Our Mission: To democratize media capability and scale, giving mid-sized independent agencies the people, skills, and tools to thrive and benefit from a true competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Two guys with deep advertising industry media experience had an idea. Having both worked in most of the holding companies, multiple independent agencies, launched agencies, large and small, in the US and each region globally, B2B and B2C, started and exited agencies, pitched smaller clients all the way up to the largest globally consolidated piece of business...

Everything pointed to the need for a different media model. Given the evolved landscape and its impact on the middle market, a new media model specifically serving mid-sized agencies is needed.

The Fragmented Media Landscape: Today's media landscape is more fragmented than ever. With an overwhelming number of channels, platforms, and targeting restrictions, agencies and brands face mounting challenges. This shift has created a need for scalable, transparent, and data-driven media solutions to support brands' needs while maintaining accountability.

The Need for Many Skillsets & Roles: The other side of the fragmentation issue is the sheer number of required media skills & roles. Gone is the day of the media generalist and two people managing all of the agency's media needs. Plus, keeping up with evolving regulations and new technologies. Generalists are not being trained because of the number of tasks per platform/channel and sheer complexity, requiring a single discipline focus.

This impacted all clients and agencies, but the difference was that larger agencies with client media spending upwards of $75 million are able to assemble the broad skillsets and roles required to serve all of the evolved media specialisms, along with a bench that is deep enough to solve competing client demands. The smaller and mid-sized agencies still only had the media revenue to support those two media staff when the reality is that upwards of 10 roles/specializations are needed to meet the client media requirements.

We knew these agencies needed a purpose-built fractional staffing model that would meet their needs and budgets and provide a true competitive advantage.

8/28/1963 is the date Martin Luther King Jr.’s gave his "I Have a Dream" speech during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. 

We learned that in Christianity, Romans 8:28 is often cited to reinforce the belief that everything happens for a reason under divine guidance. 

And, for one of the partners, 8/28 represents the date he left a role to set up 828.Media 😜
