Job Overview

828.Media is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Media Director to lead our dynamic media team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in media strategy, planning, buying, and analytics across both digital and traditional channels. This role is pivotal in guiding the development, execution, and optimization of media campaigns for our clients, ensuring that business goals are met efficiently and effectively.

The Media Director will be responsible for overseeing media strategies, managing client relationships, and leading a team of media professionals. You will work closely with other departments to integrate media strategies that align with overall business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies across multiple platforms (digital, traditional, programmatic, OOH, etc.).

  • Lead and mentor a team of media planners and buyers, providing strategic guidance and day-to-day oversight.

  • Ensure seamless collaboration between internal teams, external partners, and clients to create cohesive media plans.

Media Planning & Buying:

  • Oversee media planning and buying, ensuring campaigns are optimized for performance and aligned with client goals.

  • Monitor market trends and media landscape to identify new opportunities and innovative approaches.

  • Negotiate media buys with vendors to achieve the best possible rates and added value for clients.

Data-Driven Approach:

  • Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making, optimize campaigns, and provide actionable insights.

  • Oversee campaign measurement, reporting, and performance analysis to improve ROI and refine strategies.

  • Develop processes to ensure ongoing campaign performance optimization, including audience targeting, bidding strategies, and creative placements.

Client & Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact for all media-related inquiries.

  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure access to premium inventory and beta opportunities.

  • Provide senior-level client support, leading presentations and strategy discussions with key stakeholders.


Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, and buying with a deep understanding of both digital and traditional media channels.

  • Leadership: Proven experience managing media teams and overseeing complex campaigns from strategy to execution.

  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with media platforms such as The Trade Desk, Google Ads, DV360, and Facebook Ads Manager. Strong experience in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain media plans, results, and strategic recommendations to both internal teams and clients.

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to leverage data and insights to drive campaign performance and optimize media spend.

  • Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating media buys to secure the best rates and added value for clients.
