Assistant Media Planner

Job Overview

828.Media is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Media Planner to join our dynamic media team. This role is ideal for someone looking to kickstart their career in media planning and buying. The Assistant Media Planner will support the media planning team in the development, execution, and optimization of media campaigns across digital, traditional, and programmatic channels.

In this role, you'll assist with campaign activities such as actualizations and flowcharting, research, and reporting while gaining firsthand experience in how effective media strategies are built and executed. This position provides great growth potential in an exciting and evolving industry.


Key Responsibilities

Campaign Support:

  • Assist Media Planners in developing and executing media plans that align with client objectives.

  • Coordinate campaign deliverables, ensuring that media plans are executed smoothly and on time.

  • Handle actualizations to track campaign performance and budgets in real-time, ensuring accuracy throughout the campaign lifecycle.

  • Use flowcharting to map out media plans, timelines, and milestones to visualize how campaigns will run across platforms.

  • Work with internal teams to gather all necessary creative assets and materials for campaigns.

Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct research on target audiences, media consumption habits, and industry trends to support the development of media strategies.

  • Analyze competitor media activities and provide insights to the planning team.

  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and assist in generating client reports and post-campaign analysis.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Communicate with media vendors to request proposals, media kits, and other necessary materials.

  • Assist in managing relationships with media vendors, ensuring all placements are booked and executed accurately.

  • Work cross-functionally with account teams, creatives, and analytics teams to ensure smooth campaign execution.

Reporting & Optimization:

  • Assist in tracking and maintaining media plans, budgets, and timelines.

  • Help monitor campaign performance, pulling data from various platforms and organizing reports.

  • Participate in campaign optimization by analyzing data and recommending adjustments to improve outcomes.


Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a media-related role (internship experience welcome).

  • Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of media platforms and tools such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and The Trade Desk.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for budgeting, actualization, and tracking.

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

  • Analytical: Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset to interpret campaign data and performance.
